Various methods are used to operate the CSA off-grid.

This not only has an environmental impact but a practical and financial one too. Maybe you can pick up some tips to implement in your home too?

welcome

The scheme provides seasonal vegetables, salad and herbs (as well as a small amount of soft fruit for 2011) on a weekly basis for 44 weeks of the year to members of the Kippax CSA based near Leeds in West Yorkshire.

Driven by subscribers to the project, we produce and supply local food to the local community using organic, sustainable methods.

The members are encouraged to be actively involved in the project by lending a hand in the field either on scheduled "field days" or whenever convenient - maybe before or after picking up their veg. This is not compulsory to being a member of the scheme. Feedback, suggestions and ideas are always welcome too..

Not only does this involvement give members a better understanding of basic food production, it also nurtures a connection to the scheme and the land.

events

At Kippax CSA we hold 2 types of events:

Field Days: Where we ask members to lend a hand in the field. These are varied and can be anything from planting trees to weeding carrots.

Social Gatherings: Usually held after field days, they're generally held in the Summer months and involve eating delicious food and having fun.
